What is this product about?

Travel Personal Accident Insurance provides compensation and reimbursement for the Insured Person travelling abroad or locally, for business or leisure, in the event of injuries, disability, or death caused by accident, medical expenses incurred as a result of accident or illness, travel inconvenience and travel assistance

Who is eligible?

Would I need to get a medical examination before buying travel insurance?

No. Just note that our policy doesn't cover any existing illness or condition you might have before the insurance was purchased.

Can I upgrade my plan after purchase?

The Travel PA has an upgrade option but you can only level up at time of purchase.

Can I buy insurance on behalf of others e.g. parents, friends?

Yes, you can as long as they are within the age limit of the respective policy. You can find out more by downloading the Product Disclosure Sheet, available in the More Info section of your chosen product.

How much premium do I have to pay?

The total premium that you have to pay may vary depending on the choice of plan, destination and duration of cover.

What are the major exclusions under this Policy?

This Policy does not cover death or injury caused by the following events:

  • Delay, confiscation, detention, requisition, damage, destruction or any prohibitive regulations by customs or other government officials or authorities of any country;
  • Hazardous adventure unless such sports have been covered under the Additional Sports (Optional Rider) that Insured Person has purchased;
  • HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) and/or any HIV-related illness including AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) however caused and/or any mutant derivations, variations or treatment thereof however caused;
  • Ionizing radiation or contamination by radioactivity from any nuclear waste from combustion of nuclear fuel;
  • Pre-Existing Conditions means any injury, illness, condition or symptom;
  • Pregnancy, childbirth, abortion or miscarriage;
  • Riot or civil commotion, lockout or threat of such incident;
  • The radioactive toxic explosive or other hazardous properties of any explosive nuclear assembly or nuclear component thereof;
  • War, invasion, act of foreign enemy, hostilities (whether war be declared or not), civil war, rebellion, revolution, insurrection or military or usurped power, martial law or state of siege or any of the events or causes which determine the proclamation or maintenance of martial law or state of siege.

What should I know before purchase travel personal accident insurance?
  • Shop around to find the policy that best fits your requirements.
  • Check with your insurance company what personal effects can be covered under travel insurance, as it differs between insurance companies.
  • Ensure that your insurance company has a good network of foreign affiliates which can provide you with assistance when you need it.
  • Check whether your insurance company provides 24-hour emergency hotline service. This is important should anything go wrong while you are overseas and need help.
  • Read the policy exclusions carefully, to know what can prevent you from claiming from your policy.


How can I renew my policy?

For short-term/single trip policies, you don't need to renew. You just purchase a new one. For annual policy, we will send renewal reminder/notification to your email 1 month before expire. Just click on the link provided in the email to renew your policy. You may also contact our customer service team for renewal.

Cancellation & Refund

Can I cancel my policy?

You may terminate your Policy by giving written notice to us. Termination shall become effective on the date the notice is received or on the date specified in such notice whichever is the later. Refund of premium, however, is subject to the terms and conditions stipulated in the policy.


How do I make a claim?

You can notify us of your claim right here under our “Make a Claim” section as soon as possible.

How do I track the status of my claim?

Once a claim has been made, you'll receive an email acknowledgement. The email lists all the necessary documents needed to support the claim and other details.

If the worst happens, where does my policy money go if I did not elect a nominee?

If no nominee was elected, we'll pay the policy moneys to your lawful executor (the person you named as such in your Will) or administrator (if you don't have a Will, this is the person who has been granted administration of your estate by the Court).If there is no lawful executor or administrator, we will follow Section 6 of the Distribution Act 1958 and pay the policy moneys to your spouse, child or parent.It can get pretty complicated, which is why we always recommend you to elect a nominee.

What should I do if my insured belongings are lost or damaged during my travel?

You must promptly notify the local police and the hotel, transportation company or transportation terminal authority, whichever is applicable. You should also take all reasonable measures to protect, save and recover your belongings.

What exchange rates will be applicable?

If you are hospitalized outside Malaysia, any bills paid in a currency other than the Malaysian Ringgit will be payable based on the quoted exchange rate in effect on the date that you were discharged from the hospital.
